The medical examination took place at a hospital in Barcelona and at the team's headquarters, the Nou Camp stadium. Gil Rodal, Barcelona's chief doctor was very happy with Gudjohnsen's physical condition and said he was in top shape. Gudjohnsen says he is ready for the challenge to play for Europe's best football team. He signed a four year contract and was purchased for 12 million Euros. Gudjohnsen's former team Chelsea and Barcelona reach an agreement about the amount and Gudjohnsen took the next flight to Barcelona to sign the papers and attend a press conference. Number of photographers and reporters followed Gudjohnsen out to the stadium when he wore the Barcelona gear for the first time and showed some tricks with the football, to everybody's amusement.
